a little taste of what I've been reading (or rereading) recently.... - several of which are for college! |
I started sixth form college this year, and while I was looking forward to the new challenges, I was under no illusion as to how much work I would have to put in, so the last few months I really took time to settle into new routines and spend time with new people, while balancing college work, all of which has been really important.
For a while now, I have felt increasingly less motivated to blog, and while I feel reluctant to close this page entirely, I feel that I am not in a position to be regularly and reliably releasing posts. I love writing and this space has been such a good outlet, it's been a great way for me to express myself and I know my writing has improved drastically from the very first post I wrote here, as a little nine year old who just wanted to talk about books all day.
I am also unmotivated because while I love the interactions I have with you all on this platform, I am longing for a bigger voice, and a space where I can share my ideas and creativity with others. I will always love reading, but whether this new space I have in the works is entirely book related is still a huge question for me. I'm not sure in which 'niche' I want to orientate myself, or what sort of content I want to be making.
What I do know is that I love this creative outlet, and having a platform where I can share thoughts is so important to me. However, I started this blog aged 9 and I am now 16. I feel like a very different person to the little 9 year old who loved reading and decided she wanted to share her thoughts about books she was reading.
I may be back at some point to share my new platforms or what I'm up to. This is not the end of creative projects for me!
This is therefore not really a goodbye, more a 'see you later', dear Readers. Thank you for the last 6 years, and thank you to the book blogging community for being so special.
As always, thank you so much for taking the time to read this post.

Our bus was very late this afternoon to get home from college, so instead of waiting for it, we decided to go for a hot chocolate in town and get the next one. It was completely spontaneous, but I ended up seeing a friend I hadn't seen for weeks! I spotted her walking in the street and as I frantically waved out the café window, she came in with the biggest smile and gave me a hug, telling me how much she'd missed me. She's one of the most lovely people I've met at college, even if she's not at college anymore!! <3
It's sad but it's good to move on. Whatever you're going to do next, I hope you'll continue to create, learn and enjoy life.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day.
