8 Of My Most Anticipated YA Releases 2023

Hi Everyone!
Seeing as it's already SO CLOSE to the end of the year and we are entering the festive season (though this post is actually published on Christmas Eve, I wrote it a few weeks ago!), I want to share with you my anticipated releases for 2023! These are just 7 of the books I have found and am looking forward to reading, but of course I can't wait to read many more!

Without further ado, here are 8 of my anticipated young adult releases for 2023!

One Of Us Is Back by Karen. M. McManus

After reading and loving Karen. M. McManus' other books, I can't wait to read this one, especially as it is part of the One Of Us Is Lying series, which remain my favourite of her books. I absolutely love this series, and I should really reread them sometime! This is the third book in the series, in which a mysterious billboard appears at Bayview High, and more secrets are revealed. I can't wait to delve into this and of course share my thoughts with you!

Fake Dates and Mooncakes by Sher Lee

This book sounds like the perfect rom-com mess of fake dates, queer Asian rep and Heartstopper vibes. I am totally here for this! If you know me, you know I am partial to a good cheesy romance and this sounds like exactly that. This seems like the absolute perfect comfort read and I can't wait to get my hands on it!

Fangirl: The Manga 3 by Rainbow Rowell, Sam Maggs and Gabi Nam

I recently read the first volume of this and when I heard that the third one is meant to be released in 2023, I absolutely could not wait! This is the manga adaptation of Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell, which I read summer 2021 and fell in love with. Rediscovering this story via manga has been so awesome and I do have a review written of it, but with all the Christmas/New Year posts, it hasn't been published yet, but watch out for that one!

Always the Almost by Edward Underhill

The reviews streaming in for this book are AMAZING and I really want to read this now. I wasn't 100% convinced with the blurb, but so many people say it's like Heartbreak Boys and other books I loved, so I think this one may be a hit with me too! It follows a messy queer romance and I'm pretty sure that's all I want to know. Oh, and it involves a trans pianist trying to win back his ex in a classical piano competition. I'm in.

Ander and Santi Were Here by Jonny Garza Villa

The setting of this book is what sold it to me. The Santos Vista neighborhood of San Antonio, Texas. The descriptions talks about the smell of pan dulce and the mixture of Spanish and English on the streets, and as I am learning Spanish and love learning and reading about South America and other cultures, this seems like it will be right up my street. Reading about other cultures is one of the reasons I love Elizabeth Acevedo's books so much, and I can't wait to get into this one!

This Book Kills by Ravena Guron

This book is marketed as being perfect for fans of Holly Jackson and Karen .M .McManus, both of which I love! This looks like it has the potential to be a new YA classic, and I am totally here for it. A murder mystery, set in an elite boarding school with the main character at the center of the murder. Yes please!

As You Walk On By by Julien Winters

Prom night, finding who you are, friendships, romance....This book sounds like an absolute joy! From reading the early reviews, this has great representation, and some great discussions on themes such as wealth inequality and cyber bullying. Another cheesy romance. Are we starting to see a theme here?

If I See You Again Tomorrow by Robbie Couch

I have heard of so many books set in a time loop. But this one seems different. Clark has lived the same Monday 309 times. Until a new boy arrives, who he's never seen in previous Mondays. Can't wait to see how this is done and read something a little different!
