Today I am going to tell you about a really emotional and fairly well-known book. The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas looks at the horrors of the holocaust from a unique perspective in a truly charming way. It transports you back to a world where there is no such thing as happy ever after.
It tells the story of Bruno, the son of a commander and Hitler supporter. He is forced to move away to 'Out-With' (Can you guess where that really is?) where his father works. He lives in a small, ordinary cottage. But what is on the other side of the fence is not ordinary at all. He is completely oblivious to this. All he knows is that the people there are in striped pyjamas. Bruno befriends Shmuel a boy on the other side of the fence. Every day Bruno visits Shmuel but is troubled by the fact him and Shmuel can't play together. When Bruno has to leave to return to Berlin, he decides he wants to see what is the other side of the fence to play with Shmuel. But being curious lead to a terrible consequence...
