Top Ten Tuesday | Books With Nature Words In The Title

Hi Everyone!

This weeks topic left me feeling like I would not be able to find anything, as the official topic is books with geographical terms in the title. So I decided to twist it a bit and share some books with nature words in the title - so animals or things that occur in the natural world.

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

1. The Fault In Our Stars by John Green

I liked this book but didn't love it. I understand the hype but found aspects of it a bit strange.

2. Are We All Lemmings and Snowflakes? by Holly Bourne

A very weird book that I have mixed feelings about!

3. Pumpkin Heads by Rainbow Rowell

I just had to include this one because it is so Autumnal 🍂, I read it recently and LOVED IT!

4. The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse by Charlie Mackesy

The most heart-warming, comforting book in existence - highly recommend!

5. Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck

Like most people, I had to study this at school which unfortunately ruined it for me. Maybe one day I'll be able to reread this and not feel like I have to analyse it to death!

6. Animal Farm by George Orwell

Not a huge fan, but glad I read this one.

7. The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame

Such a cute read, and I went to see a fantastic theatre production of it too!

8. The Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis

One of my favourites to reread time and time again, and a cosy winter read.

9. The Magic Faraway Tree by Enid Blyton

This was one of my favourites when I was younger and I really want to read it again - it's so full of magic and perfect for when you want to escape to another world!

10. Alone On A Wide Wide Sea by Michael Morpurgo

One of my favourite Michael Morpurgo books that I've reread quite a few times. It's not one that's talked a lot about and not a war story but for some reason I really love it!

My morning yoga and stretching. For this academic year, I'm trying to do some every morning and so far so good. It's such a good feeling to wake up and stretch and be mindful first thing in the morning. I love Yoga With Adriene on YouTube - highly recommend!

  1. #1 - Read it, didn't quite like it. I think what I didn't like was that, the most interesting character (to me) is written out and the central character, Hazel, I think that was her name, I just didn't like her enough and I thought her story was kind of boring.

    #6 - I read this for school & I just didn't like it.

#8 - One of my favorite, I like the series very much.

Morning yoga? Sounds like a healthy way to start your day. I'm too lazy to do that.

    Have a lovely day.

    1. The Fault In Our Stars is a peculiar one - I understand what you're saying!

I can't say I liked Animal Farm much either to be honest, but as I said I am glad that I read it at least once in my life!

It is a fantastic series, although I think I only made it to the fourth or fifth book.

I'm very much a morning person so yoga is a great thing to fill the time (aside from reading)!

Thank you so much for always taking the time to stop by.

  3. Great list and twist on this week's prompt. And I like your picks. Animal Farm was one of my favorite books in my teen/early twenties. I haven't read it in awhile. Maybe I should reread soon, see if I still love it. ;)

  4. I love your twist. If I had thought of this, I would've had a much easier time findings books that qualify. I read a lot more books with animals, flowers, and stars in the title. Great choices!

  8. I loved The Faraway Tree when I was younger, it was one of my first gateways into fantasy! I also enjoyed The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, though I was never able to get into the rest of the Narnia series for some reason. I really didn't like The Fault In Our Stars at all, we just didn't gel very well I guess!

    1. I'm not much of a fantasy reader myself, but I did love the Faraway Tree! I feel the exact same about the Narnia series - I read up to book four or five and didn't really enjoy them aside from The Lion The Witch And The Wardrobe. The Fault In Our Stars is a controversial one! Happy TTT!
